Embarking on a project in uncertain economic times can feel like a risky leap of faith, but it could actually be a very wise move.

Declines will happen faster if everyone hunkers down to play it safe while sitting out the storm. While of course that is the wisest course of action for those who are safely in a space where they’re able to pause, for those who need to move for space, employment or even lifestyle, and who have the funds in place to do so could well find it a huge advantage to make the leap while others are batoning down their hatches.

Why? Because as things slow, even good traders, craftsmen & makers get quieter meaning they become available when perhaps you could have faced long delays waiting for their services.  And where safer to invest than in your property - the one asset that over time is guaranteed to go up in value even if there are wobbles in the markets along the way.

If moving house is on your agenda, you may find others also keen to move are willing to agree preferential deals so that they don’t end up stuck in a place they no longer want to be.

And who knows - if those of us who can keep things going do so, maybe others will feel the positivity of our confidence and we’ll maintain the health of the property market or at least encourage a quicker recovery.

I write this as an Interior Designer who has come to the above by observing and being a key player in the housing market for 25 years. I have seen how investing in our homes is not only a wise investment, but the long term elevation to your lifestyle, sense of place and overall happiness & well being has always outweighed any short term stresses during the process.

At Pascoe Interiors we offer home owners a fully comprehensive service that focuses on pre-project planning, which is key to the success of any project.  Before any work starts on site, we work closely with our clients to design, plan and cost the project so that they step over the threshold of no return with full confidence. The earlier we are involved in a project, the more comprehensive our service can be.

We, and our extended team, then guide them through the process from concept to completion.  Or if you find the project is going to cost more than you currently have and you decide to postpone, you can do so safe in the knowledge your plans are agreed and your goal is clearly identified - part of our Sustainable Design Policy is ensuring Clients can achieve what they want with the budget they have; if not we fully support pausing and reconvening when possible.

For Clients who want the ultimate reassurance that your project is in the very best hands, we can offer to build a complete team for your project from our Black Book Collective.  The Collective is an initiative Clare Pascoe has devised to offer discerning clients direct access to our highly coveted Black Book of contacts, that includes consultants, contractors & suppliers, built over more than two decades of professional experience.
