Pascoe Interiors has always striven to design sustainably responsible homes that are future proofed to our client’s needs. Home Automation is here to stay and there is no doubt it makes our homes more sustainable and it increases the longevity of the products we install. Most systems run off our smart phones & tablets, so the end user controls may not require a place of permanence in the home, but the power infrastructure is fixed and must be accounted for at the design planning stages.
Typically, we think of home automation as involving lighting and sound controls, but it can also be used to control your window treatments including curtains and blinds.
Electric window treatments are a perfect example of sustainability because the benefits of electric window treatments extends further than the convenience of being able to open or close treatments at a distance at the touch of a button. They extend the life of the curtains, as you physically handle them far less, they offer security to your home, as you can close down the house easily, even when you are not there, plus your home becomes more sustainable if you can close curtains in tandem with your heating firing up even if you aren’t home and are there part of our commitment to designing responsibly with sustainability.
Just one way home automation can work for your home.
